Junior Audubon Activities — Fall/Winter 2018

Junior Audubon is sponsored by the Litchfield Hills Audubon Society and is offered at no cost to participants.  For more information and updates visit www.lhasct.org or contact Donna Rose Smith at LHASjunior @gmail.com or Phone: 203.706.0474

Children of all ages and their parents have enjoyed Junior Audubon activities, but we keep in mind children in grades 2 through 5 as we plan events.

Who stays and who goes? Where do the animals of the field and forest spend the winter? Do they dig in, or travel to sunnier locations? Look for signs of animals getting ready for winter on this scavenger hunt. Wing on over to Boyd Woods Audubon Sanctuary for this fun-filled event.

Meet at the Boyd Woods Sanctuary parking area on Route 254 in Litchfield.

Fairy House Building

November 11, Sunday, 1-2:30 p.m.

It’s time to visit our fairy village at Boyd Woods and get it ready for winter. Fairies like to live in quiet places away from roads, rock walls, and major trails. Boyd Woods is a great place for them to live. Join us to make fairy houses out of natural materials that we find in the forest.

Meet at the Boyd Woods Sanctuary parking area on Route 254 in Litchfield.
